Press invitation: Presentation Heritage Days 2025, and its theme “ART DECO, Roaring Twenties, Crash Years”
Registration for the press conference is mandatory

Ans Persoons, Brussels Secretary of State for Urban Planning and Heritage, Sarah Lagrillière, Deputy Director-General of urban.brussels, and Paul Dujardin, Commissioner for the Year of Art Deco 2025, are pleased to invite you to the press conference on Thursday 11 September at 1 PM for the announcement of the programme for the 37th edition of the Heritage Days, which will take place in the weekend of 20 and 21 September 2025. As a journalist, you will also have the opportunity to visit the Queen Elisabeth Medical Foundation in Laeken, which is part of the Brussels Heritage Days.
Organiser urban.brussels has decided to dedicate the 37th edition of the Heritage Days to the theme “ART DECO, Roaring Twenties, Crash Years”. The programme will highlight a wide range of heritage: buildings, façades, interiors, but also furniture, collections, intangible heritage, exhibitions and public spaces.
As we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of Art Deco in Brussels this year, the Heritage Days will be entirely dedicated to this theme. This art movement is omnipresent and is typical Brussels' heritage. This weekend is set to be one of the highlights of the Year of Art Deco 2025.
The Heritage Days programme gives visitors an insight into how Art Deco developed from an artistic movement since 1925 into an elegant, opulent and resolutely modern style. Art Deco is also inextricably linked to the atmosphere of the interbellum period.
During the press conference, the programme for the Heritage Days will be presented and there will be several speeches by the partners involved. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to discover a little-known Art Deco building in the capital during a guided tour: the Queen Elisabeth Medical Foundation in Laeken.
